Arbortext Adapter to Documentum (formerly Repository Adapter to Documentum) improves reuse, collaboration and publishing through its seamless integration between EMC Documentum’s content management system and PTC’s Arbortext Editor and Arbortext Publishing Engine. This adapter is the interface between Arbortext publishing software and EMC Documentum’s content management system. With the adapter, Arbortext users can create, capture and reuse information in XML using Arbortext Editor, manage that information in Documentum, and automatically publish that information to multiple types of media with Arbortext Publishing Engine.

The adapter provides the ability to create information at a topic level, store it within the Documentum repository, and reuse the topics in a variety of compound documents. By managing content as separate topic components—which can be made up of text, graphics, audio, video or anything you need to manage separately—multiple authors can simultaneously collaborate on different sections, or topics, of the same compound document. In conjunction with the Arbortext Publishing Engine, the adapter also enables automatic publishing to multiple media and audiences from EMC Documentum.
