Arbortext Editor

A key component of the PTC’s dynamic publishing software, Arbortext Editor (formerly Epic Editor) features an integral connection to Windchill and provides the starting point for creating publications out of reusable components. Arbortext Editor enables you to:

  • Create and edit XML and SGML content
  • Work with content both as components and as compound documents
  • Reuse content across your organization
  • Improve the accuracy, consistency and flexibility of your information
Key Benefits

Increase Authoring Productivity

  • Frees authors from the responsibility of designing documents by hand through automatic formatting
  • Easily reuse information by linking to its original source instead of copying and pasting
  • Eliminate the need to find and apply the same changes to multiple copies of the same information
  • Reduce the cost of updating your information

Improve Information Accuracy, Consistency and Relevance

  • Eliminate inconsistencies by creating content components that can be reused in multiple documents and media types
  • Mark any portion of your content for a specific purpose to produce publications that meets the specific needs of each individual
  • Eliminate nearly all of the manual effort required to publish

Reduce Translation Costs

  • Create modular information so you translate only the components that have changed
  • Translate reused information once rather than in each location it is used

Arbortext Editor’s familiar word processing interface makes it easy for authors to create structured content for reuse and automated publishing.
