Engineer, manufacture and install a replacement size press for a paper machine producing writing grades
Task:
The project consisted of replacement framing for a badly corroded circa 1960 pond type size press. Existing rolls, size showers, piping, walkways and drives were re-used. All other parts were new and fabricated of painted steel. Improvements of design and functionality were incorporated into the new framing. The installation included demolition of the existing size press and soleplates. Preparation and core drilling of existing sill beam. Setting of new anchor bolts and sole plates. Installation of new size press re-using specified existing equipment. Complete alignment of framing and rolls. Reinstallation of piping and controls components.
